I love shooting at or near maximum aperture (or, in other words, wide open), which so often renders a nice diffuse background that does wonders for isolating the subject and drawing the viewer&#8217;s eye to the most important (and, by far, the cutest!) part of the frame. When I saw the below photo of Samantha, I knew I had the shot I wanted.
